The Company
The LDH heritage began in the UK during the 1950’s when the worldwide Gerber Group began importing canned goods into the UK.
In the mid-1990’s, a joint venture was established between Gerber Foods and La Doria Spa, an Italian listed company, to market Italian canned foods in the UK.
In 1998 the Gerber Group decided to focus solely on the fruit juice sector. As a result, a buyout of the canned and import business took place by the management and La Doria. Subsequently, a stake was sold to H J Heinz.
In recent months, following the exit of H J Heinz from the seafood sector, their shareholding was transferred to John West Foods.
The current shareholders are:
La Doria - 51%
John West - 20%
Pastifico Di Martino Gaetano & F.LLI S.p.A - 10%
Management - 19%
